VisualSelector is a PlugIn for trueSpace version 6.6 and up. With this plugin you are able to setup points which
represents objects in your scene. One click on a point selects the representing object in the scene.

As background you can choose between an image or a simple background color. The points can have text.

VisualSelector has two working modes. If you start VisualSelector the first time (left click on the tsx icon) you are in the
setup mode. You can identify this through the title bar of the window and also that you have a few icons on the top of the
window.

The process is the following. Select an object in the trueSpace scene and click into the VisualSelector Window. A point is
created and you can now move the point around. A right click on the point opens a context menu (see sample image).
Here you have the possibility to delete a point and to enter a text for this point.

If an object is no longer in the scene but you have a point for it in the visual selector it is marked through a cross over the
point ( see The Cube in the sample image). In this case you can just delete the point (to enter text makes no sense).

If you have created all points that you need switch into the use mode. You can do that by a right click anywhere into the
window except on the points.

If you now click on any point the object will be selected in your scene. Thats all.

You can switch back to setup mode again by a right click into the VisualSelector Window. So keep in mind -> right
click to switch between setup mode and use mode.

BTW: The selection functionality works also in setup mode but here you move the points around if you click and drag a
bit thats the reason for the use mode ;-) Let's take a look what the icons do

Create new setup It does what the name says. It prepares VisualSelector to create a new setup of
points. It clears all points and setup all defaults.

Load setup Opens a Filedialog to load a prepared setup.

Save setup Opens a Filedialog to save your setup.
DONT FORGET TO SAVE YOUR WORK !
Visual Selector asks you to save if you exit trueSpace.

Switch to image background See below

Switch to color background See below

Options See below

Switch to image background
To use an image as background click on the icon. A filedialog appears. Select now a image file. The minimum size should
be 200x200, otherwise the image will be stretched. The maximum size can be 768x768. The window size is automatically
adjusted to the image size.

The following image formats are possible: BMP, DIB, RLE, JPG, JPEG, JPE, JFIF, GIF, EMF, WMF, TIF, TIFF, PNG, ICO.
Visual Selector uses the GDIplus API to load images. All Windows systems since Windows 98 should have this installed.

The selection of a background image (and also background color) has no effect over the points. So you can change the
background as often as you want.

If an image can't be loaded you will get a message and VisualSelector will switch back to color background.

Switch to color background
To use a simple color as background click on the icon. A dialog appears where you can adjust the size of the window
(minimum 200x200, maximum 768x768) and also the background color. When done click the OK button.

Again: you can do this as often as you want. For example if a point is unreachable, just resize your window and you get
your point back.

Options
Here you can adjust a few properties. Most of them are self explained. The point size is variable between 6 and 32 pixels.
The grid (which helps to position the points) also uses this value. This means that the smaller your point size is, the smaller the
grid will be and vice-versa. The point and color adjustments are stored together with your setup.
